Anniversary Weekend

The Young Black Motivated Kings and Queens (YBMKQ) anniversary weekend is a vibrant celebration featuring three impactful events aimed at fundraising, community development, and strengthening bonds between enrollees. At the core of this weekend is youth recognition, healing, and empowerment.

The weekend kicks off with the Youth Healing Event, which centers around activities encouraging emotional and group healing, followed by The Gospel Explosion Concert, an uplifting musical event with varying musical guests every year. The third and final event featured is the Anniversary Gala—consisting of the "25 under 25 Awards Ceremony”, most recently brought to life as a Sneaker Ball—a stylish affair that honors young leaders for their accomplishments and investments in our community. Each event embodies YBMKQ's commitment to empowering its community and ensuring its future successes through joy and togetherness.

This unique event serves as a transformative experience, allowing the young attendees to release burdens they have been carrying and find liberation in a supportive and empowering environment. The Gospel Explosion concert has featured artists such as Kierra Sheard & Friends, Trini Massie & Sharde Martin, and Todd Galberth, The Walls Group & Kelontae Gavin, among dozens of other talented gospel artists.

Anniversary

This annual gala is the primary celebration during the YBMKQ Anniversary Weekend, where we bring together over 300 passionate and driven youth and young adults to honor their outstanding contributions to their communities. The gala consists of the 25 under 25 awards ceremony, where we celebrate the remarkable achievements of youth who have been making a profound impact on the world around them. This gala unites young changemakers and empowers them to continue their incredible work for a brighter future.

Youth Healing

In this empowering event, we bring together a group of 25-30 young individuals who openly express their desire for healing. Through open discussions, they courageously share their life experiences, offering support and understanding to one another. Together, these youth embark on a transformative journey, encouraging each other to let go of harmful habits, fostering a positive environment for growth and personal development.
